Don't miss the Ice Cold Action........

Friday.....9am......He-Nis-Ra Park on the West side of Green Bay......the 5th Annual Polar Bear Ride.....ummmm needs new name????? Had a max of 16 riders a few years back, we should be able to get to 25 riders this year with the new gorilla marketing campaign!!!!!!!

Come on out and freeze your way into the new year and have a good time with the team!!!!!

ALso keep in mind that we need riders on the ice for Jan. 9th at the Gambler game....the more the better, non-riders needed also!

See you at both events!!!!!!!!!

Cyclocross anyone.......anyone......

We planned a little Cyclocross action at Colburn Park Sunday Morning.....only 6 riders and a couple of spectators remembered and made the trip out in the slightly chilly morning air? We did manage to get a good workout in and learn a little more about cross, also learned that Colburn is a great place to hold a cross race, awesome location to do something like this!
Only had a few Flyers out there, everyone else is waiting for the Polar Bear Ride.....New Years Day...hopefully we can get a few more riders out there for that one? Remember 9am at He-Nis-Ra on New Years Day....the more the better, love to see at least 25 riders? Don't stay home like you did last year......get out and start the new year ON YOUR BIKE!!!!!

Hats and clothing order meeting

Here we have a few hat choices, all will be in black with the Flyer logo on the front, this is the worn look....little fraying and such with velcro closure.

Pretty much the common unstructured lower profile hat.....in black with logo on front.

Oh yeah....gotta love this one right! We could stay kahki or camo on this one? Visor also available if anyone would like?
I am guessing that we could likely get these hats in Pink for the ladies if desired? I am thinking we may have a meeting to order all of the goods, might make it easier with all of the clothing available? I will try to set a date in early December....so get your orders ready and we can get it all done at once?
I am thinking the best day might just be Tuesday December 1st? Does that work for everyone? I will set a location after I know the majority can make it.

Upcoming events......

Underground TurkeyCross on Turkey Day....underground but a blast!

The big one, come one come all......5th Annual Polar Bear Bike Ride.....you cannot miss this ride, always a good time and a great way to kick off the New Year! 9am at He-Nis-Ra Park in Green Bay, ride for a while and end up at Starbucks or a warm beverage place.....then mount up and ride back!

This is an all-weather ride....meaning we roll no matter the weather, so toughen up and join the Flyers as we kick off the New Year!

Bike on Ice......this will happen again for 2010......stud the tires and get on the ice, good times! January 9th is the date I believe!

Iceman 2009

Myself, Giesen, Weisner, Livingston, Warren, Bill Peters, and Gary Esko hit the road early Friday Morning....7 hours in the cars and we made it! The annual shot going over the Mighty Mac.....awesome bridge and no high wind warnings this year!

Breakfast at Drifters in Escanaba (in da Moonlight), always a treat to get the trip started with the first greasy spoon!

This is the campfire outside our cabin.......gas powered? :)

Ahhhh, the Red Mesa Grill! Margarita time! Food also, the gang and then some, we picked up some hitch hikers along the way after the awards banquet.....wierd names? The Rusty Shed, Sugs, and Cupcake......and that might be Giesen's 4th in his hand!

Rob bringing home the big one! The grand raffle prize every year......a CompuTrainer, one of our own brought home the sweet loot! One would think he should win the Pro race next year having his own CompuTrainer!
Great time out there, if you missed it.....it is a must do race at some point in your career! I always think about taking a year off and then don't......just one of those races you have to do at some point, awesome course and great atmosphere all weekend! Good racing by the Flyers in attendance!

Couple two tree weeks away from biking stuff for me, sort of....stay tuned for info in the goods.

Myself, Joel, and I think Andy Tegge made the trip down to Verona Saturday, a long course with some good racing.....man those barrriers get higher as the race goes on!

Shevegas!

Rose on her way to the age class win!

With my season scrapped early on......I played domestique role for my main competitor from last season.....me....had a fun day on the bike and a 4th place finish.

I now see why Warren rode so damn fast.....he feet were on fire! Great ride and season for Warren!

Schindel lapping thru.....Fast Mark won the young big fellas!

Scotty Anderson crosses the line, good to see the Flyers out there solidifying the team title!

Lanser.....kind of looks chilled....but knowing Lanser that is not the case!

We had two riders make a little photo essay in the Sheboygan Press, Dale going so damn fast he blurs the photo!

Steve smiling with a 5er in the mouth.....nice job, Steve was one of 3 Flyers at the Shawano cross race Saturday....Steve grabbed a podium spot up there!

I'll have more on the season wrap in a week or so......nice job to all......pretty sure we swept the Unlimited Team Titles......very nice!

Chequamegon 2009

Ryan just finished his first 40......great race and then good times after.....including the NASCAR stop.....fast pit!

Warren continued the stellar season, knocked another 15 minutes off last year I think he said.....nice ride! Get ready for some Chili!!!

Random shot as we were getting set to pre-ride, is there a theme here.....everyone wearing a beer jersey? Must have been looking ahead to Saturday night!

More Chequamegon......

Giesen finishing a great race.....especially when you consider he was one of the wounded at the Ramble! Aug. 30th he suffers a dislocated shoulder and Sept. 19th he races 40 miles.....very well at that! Tough Guy!

Former Team 2 what is sort of now the Flyers........Cole House chasing Sheboygan's Brian Matter up the final hill......Cole took a close second.......almost catching Matter!

More fast guy ties to the Flyers, Ryan Baumann started with us when we were the Aurora BayCare team I think? Amazing and awesome to see how far he has come and I know we are all proud of Ryan! He finished an awesome 5th overall......two in the top 5 with ties to the Flyers!!!

Gantz went out and ripped up the shoulder on his new jersey, word from team HQ is that he will be fined for mutilating the Flyer Jersey :) Tough day for Jeff as the sharp left got him and roughed him up a bit, heal up Gantz!
Nice job to all, we had about 12 or so Flyers up there.....awesome to see you all roll accross the line! Special props to Bill Peters and Ryan Usiak, rookies that faired extremely well, under 3 hours in their first 40....rock on boys!

Check it out.....Ryan Usiak on the podium after a great race, 2nd in age class and 5th overall Citizen.....nice job Ryan. And thanks to Rebecca for the pics!

In action.....great to see a team rider develop thru the season.....keep on truckin'!

Dale Lenss enroute to an age class win, see Dale.....Seth was right about the course being perfect!

Cole Jacobson in the dust after coming down the hill and heading out on the lap.

Stephanie ready to rock at the start line, nice job.....5th place age class finish!
Nice job to all again who made the trip down, great course on a beautiful warm day, two more to go and they are both close to home....big numbers for the Flyers!!! Stay tuned for a small cross race coming up in Shawano, we are the supporting club so it would be cool to get a few of youz guyz up there to put on a little show!
Time to head up Nort'.......Chequamegon time!

Home Cooking!

Saturday rains.....all of us locals knew what the Saturday rains would do for the course on Sunday morning......F A S T ! And that is exactly what happened, as I am getting into my tent Saturday night.....the rain stops around 9:04pm, I was watching the clock and the sky, just knowing that if the rain would go away anytime now we would have the right amount of drying time......thank you dear Lord!

With the Volunteers and racers combined we had over 40 racers at the Ramble, good points day! Those who raced helped out beyond all belief Saturday and then Sunday before and after, warriors!
Borst in the single track, how about that course that Dale put together......awesome!

We do know that it was a good thing we had County Rescue their, the Flyers kept them busy :) We even get to use the bad joke and say.....look at the two Flyers with broken wings....ba dum bah....? I can joke because they both came back to the race course after the Doc and are in good spirits! Mike is already planning some trainer time and I know Mark will be back at it soon.....we all wish you both a fast and successful recovery!

Home Course Advantage!

Cole grabbing some good tasty and needed h2o....big props to the Flyers family members for taking care of business at the water stop!

Curt getting after it after a swig of refreshing Flyer h20!

New Flyer Gary Esko from Wausau popping out of the single track just before the h2o, great to have you on the team Gary!

Paul Westburg burning it up on the uno speedo.

Seth digging in, a fast train of Elite's kept the hammer down and the speeds WAY up!
A huge thanks to all of you.....you all made the race happen and happen extremely well! It is amazing that we have such a great group of riders that give their time so freely to make this event happen....a very humbling experience when I myself sit back and think about all that happens when you agree to put a race on, and knowing we have the team we have willing to do what it takes.....amazing!
Thank you all from, myself, Dale, and Ethan. The Flyers ROCK!

Thank you to Stephanie Yost for the pictures while handing off water!
