Subaru Cup

A big week/weekend of racing for the Flyers, can you find Dale Lenss in the photo.....Dale representing in the pro race!

For most of the last two weeks you could and would find Q on the pavement across the eastern side of the state.....it was TOAD time! Nice job Q, back on the bike after the mishap....just like riding a bike!

This past weekend was the BIG DADDY! Subaru Cup time for the WORS crowd and a few pro racers from across North America.....a great weekend of racing for all who made the trip! A few highlites if I am remembering correctly and in no order and sorry if I forget anything......?

Seth Lenss tore up the Cat 1 field, out in front by what seemed to be over a minute! Awesome ride Seth, hung onto 4th after a little mechanical messed with him.....still a great ride! After that it was really just everyone on the course getting it done, Flyers numbers were moderate and could have been higher but still a lot of us out there! Davidson ripped it up in the short track on Sunday......flying thru the field......and then got pulled.....like most of us? BP had a nice weekend of racing even though his gears fell off......a great single speed ride in the short track! Pascalle took a Cat 3 Super D win......just a ton of great performances, nice job to all.

Camping was stellar with the team all in one general area.....storms and all, we had a good time!

The story of the weekend in my point of view.......watching the little fellas in the Cat 3 race come thru, one kid rides up to his Dad and says, "it's too hard, I'm done?" So the kid goes over and takes his helmet off and sits on the ground.........the Expo kids went over and chatted with him, he sat there a little longer........then he gets up and walks back down, puts his helmet on and gets his bike........he was going to finish the race! The crowd was cheering like crazy for the kid......he will never forget that day.......that day he did NOT quit. That is why we all mountain bike and love to be around our WORS family.

Sunny.....Burst!

Butch slugging it out on the energy sucking trails.....who ever said this race was easy is a .....*&%&^%*%*&%!!!!!!

Davidson thinking about what trash talk he was going to throw at Hauser upon crossing the line......he threw plenty, and had a tasty 49 cent cone on the way home :)

Leader of the Pack, Dale getting it done....leading the fellas all day!

Giesen brought it home in 4th and held up right where he needed in points....rumor has it there may be some big Stumpy wheels beneath the Chilton Flash in the future?!

Paul back on the back and whooping it up, racing the Epic while the 29er gets an overhaul!
Nice work to all, that was a tough day on the bike, humidity and energy zapping sticky mud......not an easy race as some may claim! Let's look to Subaru Cup to see a HUGE showing of Flyers.....numbers are a little down.....crank them up! Racing and camping with the team, good times all around at a great event, get out there!

Wausau 2010

No better way to start the post off than with the youngest Flyer of all.....Jack Usiak ripping it up in the kids race.....proudly flying the colors! Awesome!

Nice shot of Ramble course director Dale Lenss, a class win for Dale at Wausau......nice ride!

Bill Peters and Mark Schindel lapping thru....they kind of look HOT....great job to all in the heat.

Warren Fowler lap thru, always riding strong......good ride Warren!

Looks like the big boys rolling off the line, Steele powering off the front for a 5th place finish on the day!

Like I said, great job to all, the heat was tough from what I hear! Giesen snags his first trip to the top step, sweet!

Thoughts out to Q as he recovers from a pretty bad crash in a road race, I got a text from Gantz saying he was in the ER with Q.....hit his head on the pavement and has a good amount of road rash......take care and get back on the bike Q!

Remember the re-scheduled Stump Farm race is this Sunday at the Camp! 30, 50, 100 mile options....get on out and get some miles in on the mountain bike!
